We are delighted to announce that Nelly has been invited, as Guest Artist, to perform in the Christmas Gala Concert (Crăciun la Opera) with Craiova Opera Română!
The concert, taking place on December 21st at Teatru Național Marin Sorescu Craiova, will feature an array of talent from Romania, and with Nelly appearing as the leading guest performer.
Nelly's programme, to be performed with Orchestra Operei Române Craiova, will feature a large selection of the repertoire for which she is most acclaimed and loved.

PRINCESS MARINA STURDZA MEMORIAL EVENING - ROMANIAN CULTURAL INSTITUTE (LONDON)
Nelly was invited to sing at a special celebration of the life of Princess Marina Sturdza of Romania - one of the most important figures in both the Royal history of Romania, but also in the world of philanthropy and charity.
Nelly's appearance was one of the final wishes of Princess Marina, including the repertoire that she hoped would be performed.
Following a series of heartfelt speeches from some of Princess Marina's closest friends and colleagues, and a spectacular performance from fellow Romanian, and esteemed pianist, Sergiu Tuhutiu, Nelly performed a programme of repertoire of Schubert, Mascagni, Puccini and the beautiful Romanian song "Ce te legeni cordial?"

NELLY AWARDED PRESTIGIOUS CONSTANTIN BRANCOVEANU AWARD - 15TH NOVEMBER 2017
On the evening of the 15th November, surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues, Nelly was awarded a highly prestigious Constantin Brâncoveanu Award.
The award - for which Nelly was nominated by Dan Ghibernea, the former Romanian Ambassador in the UK - was presented bycurrent Ambassador Dan Mihalache, at the Romanian Cultural Institute in London.
"The Constantin Brâncoveanu Awards, awarded by the Alexandrion Foundation, were introduced as a form of recognition for outstanding works in the fields of Romanian history, culture and arts."
It is the continued aim of the Alexandrion Foundation, founded by Nawaf Salameh, that these awards honour the values of Romanian culture.

MEDITERRANEAN OPERA STUDIO & FESTIVAL - 24TH JUNE - 6TH AUGUST 2018
Nelly will return to Mediterranean Opera Studio & Festival once again in 2018!
MOSF’s performance season features Madama Butterfly, L’Elisir D’Amore, and Le Nozze di Figaro – fully produced with orchestra and staging - as well as concerts of opera scenes with orchestra, and symphonic and chamber music. The course provides a positive training environment for Opera Singers, Auditors of singing technique, Orchestra Musicians, Assistant Conductors, Stage Managers, and Assistant Directors.

NELLY JOINS FACULTY OF LONDON BEL CANTO FESTIVAL - 7TH - 19TH AUGUST 2017
Nelly will join the faculty of the newly formed London Bel Canto Festival - alongside David Parry, Bruce Ford and Kenneth Querns - to give a series of Masterclasses and private lessons. She is delighted to be joining what she feels to be a fantastic new opportunity for young singers, giving them the opportunity to work with some of the most respected musicians and artists in the industry.

NELLY HOSTS AN EVENING OF ITALIAN OPERA
Nelly Miricioiu hosts a salon of Italian Opera for the University Women's Club - alongside mezzo soprano Angela Simkin (ROH Jette Parker Young Artist), tenor Daniel Turner and pianist, Marc Verter.

NELLY RETURNS TO MANILA FOR RECITAL & MASTERCLASSES

NELLY'S LATEST APPEARANCE ON TVR INTERNATIONAL

NELLY AWARDED HIGHEST HONOURS IN ROMANIA
The fourth edition of the Bucharest National Opera Gala event took place on Sunday, December 18, 2016, 21.00.
At the fourth edition of the Gala, the Grand Prize was awarded to Ms Nelly Miricioiu - the famous Romanian soprano. On this occasion she was also be awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen" of Iaşi. As well as receiving her honours, Nelly also made an appearance as Special Guest Artist, singing from Il Pirata with the orchestra of Bucharest National Opera, and also performing with her beloved colleague and friend, Roberto Alagna.
The event was broadcast live on TVR 1, TVR International TVR HD, Radio Romania Cultural and Radio Romania Music, starting at 21.00. It was also broadcast live on the official website www.operanb.ro.

As Romanian National Television prepares to launch 'Biographies to Remember', a series of portraits devoted to the great Romanians living abroad, we are celebrating two of the most admired figures of the Romanian community in Britain: opera star Nelly Miricioiu and violin wizard Remus Azoiței. The event is organised in partnership with Romanian broadcaster’s International Channel (TVRI) and will also feature, along with the memorable encounter with the two amazing musicians, performing together for the first time, the premiere of the biographical documentaries that honour their achievements. MEDITERRANEAN OPERA STUDIO & FESTIVAL
Nelly joins the Mediterranean Opera Studio & Festival once again this coming summer, both as master of voice and - in an exciting new venture - as Director!
She will direct the festival's production of Puccini's La Boheme, which will be featured alongside Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia, and a concert performance of Puccini's Tosca.

NELLY FEATURED IN ART INSTALLATION BY TURNER PRIZE WINNER
Nelly is incredibly proud to feature in this wonderful installation, by Turner Prize winning artist, Yinka Shonibare MBE. At a time when migration, and immigration, seems to be the centre of so many discussions and issues, it is wonderful to see such a beautiful celebration of so many people who have made a mark in history, and who represent so many more people who continue to make a mark today.
MASTERCLASS - HONG KONG, CHINA
Nelly travels to Hong Kong as a visiting professor, giving public and private masterclasses to a group of exciting young singers. The visit, which takes place between 19-29th April 2017, will be Nelly's teaching debut in Hong Kong.

GRAND OPERA VOCAL COMPETITION
Nelly travels to Moscow to sit on the Jury of the "Grand Opera Vocal Competition" for the Kultura TV Channel.
The competition, which takes place over several months, will see Nelly travel to Russia regularly to be filmed, and to listen to some of Russia's most exciting young talent.

Nelly was featured in the Romanian edition of ELLE Magazine (June 2016), in an article celebrating her Romanian Cultural background, her escape from the Communist regime, and the success of her international career.
A CELEBRATION OF NELLY'S LIFE AND ART
Nelly recently returned to Romania, where she was celebrated by Radio Romania on her 64th Birthday. She was interviewed by Luminita Arvunescu in a special evening at the Cotroceni Palace, Bucharest, as well as interviews for TV and Radio.
Nelly was overwhelmed to be presented with a Diploma of Excellence from the Minister of Culture in Romania - one of the highest cultural honours an artist can receive. The video of this special moment can be viewed here:
